DAVID BOUCHARD JOINS RUBICON TEAM

OAKVILLE, ON – David Bouchard, one of Canada’s most distinguished aboriginal authors and a much sought-after public speaker, has signed with Rubicon Publishing as an author and series editor to help develop aboriginal-focused resources for schools across North America. A former teacher and principal of 28 years, Bouchard champions children and literacy, and promotes and shares aboriginal culture.
“We are so happy to have David Bouchard join our team,” said Dawna McKinnon, a Senior Editor at Rubicon Publishing. “We have been admirers of David’s work for a long time, so it is wonderful to have him work with us on these projects.”
Bouchard is Canada’s most published Métis author and has authored more than 35 bestselling books. Bouchard’s books have won several prestigious awards. He received the gold medal in the Moonbeam award for I am Raven, the Governor General’s Award for The Song Within My Heart, and the Lee Bennett Hopkins Poetry award for Voices from the Wild. If You’re not from the Prairie is listed on MacLean’s list of the Top Twenty Children’s books in the history of Canada. In 2009, Bouchard was named to the Order of Canada.
