NEW YORK, NEW YORK – Rubicon author Yang-Yi Goh and his business partner Jeremy Wolf are good friends with shared interests. And it is those interests that have formed the basis of a new online magazine the two launched together. Handlebar Magazine started with the seed of an idea and a combined $125 in funding scrounged from the pockets of the two founders and recent NYU grads.
Handlebar Magazine consists of four main sections, each modeled after one of the founders’ primary interests: STYLE covers the latest and greatest in menswear from around the world; SPORTS provides a divergent perspective on the culture of sports; ARTS reports on the worlds of film, television, music, literature and visual art; and, finally, KNOWLEDGE serves as a compendium of current events, travel logs, philosophical musings, and instructional guides.
Goh and Wolf have tapped into their extensive network of friends – fellow students and recent grads – to help provide writing, photography, art, reviews and more along with all the features and interviews they write and photograph themselves. As the site has steadily grown, they have watched the traffic steadily grow with it, and it has fueled their passion to continue delivering timely, edgy and engaging content.
As Goh said when asked about their burgeoning project, “We love what we do and it’s given us a chance to meet with some incredible people from all walks of life. It’s a perfect outlet for our passions.”
