TORONTO, ON – Rubicon Publishing’s Trade Group is pleased to announce that their upcoming graphic novel for adults, The Terminals, has been optioned by Jim Donovan of Alliage 3 Entertainment.
“I think The Terminals has taken on a life of its own because it has a premise that readers instantly ‘get,’” said Michael Stewart, author of the novel. “To have a chance at Earthly redemption after we die...that's pretty cool, right? Throw in a suicidal army colonel and a shotgun toting monk, and you've got a great recipe for a feature. I am really looking forward to working with both Jim and Rubicon to translate that hook to film and television.”
Jim Donovan, award winning Canadian director, optioned the film and is also enthused about the project; “I have high hopes for this project. What struck me is the richness of the concept, the potential it has to be adapted for multiple platforms and continuing narratives. … Creatively, I love the clash between the real world and the afterlife, as well as bridging the two. As a director I marvel at the creative potential to bring this to the screen both conceptually and technically. It begs for some innovation.”
