RUBICON AUTHOR ROCKS THE 2009
JUNO AWARDS
29 March 2009
VANCOUVER - Rubicon author Bob Hallett and his band mates from The Great Big Sea performed in front of thousands of screaming fans, as the closing act of the 2009 Juno Awards this evening.
The band’s performance marked the end of their coast-to-coast tour promoting their tenth album, “Fortunes Favour”. Even though they didn’t take home the award, The Great Big Sea is no stranger to the Junos, having been nominated for the honour ten times previously.
Hallett’s talents are not, however, limited to performing music. He authored “The 10 Greatest Pop Stars” for Rubicon as part of their award-winning series The 10. He has also written and narrated a one hour special for the series, “Inside the Music” on CBC Radio II, contributed dozens of tracks to other artists’ albums, and is in the process of recording tracks for a solo CD of traditional instrumental music.
