Seriously Cool
From youngsters to adolescents who are developing as readers, today’s students require texts that will involve them emotionally, intellectually, and imaginatively. BOLDPRINT delivers by featuring topics that are important to youth culture while cutting across different interest and subject areas. Readers can access a wide variety of text forms — including personal accounts, graphic stories, newspaper articles, poetry, and more — that have been specially chosen for quality and capacity to capture the interest of those who can’t, don’t, or won’t read traditional texts and learning materials. All BOLDPRINT books are designed in an oversized graphic magazine format and feature stunning photographs and lively illustrations that support the text and further enhance the reading experience.
Serious Literacy
Reading selections in all BOLDPRINT books are carefully scaffolded and embedded with comprehension prompts, definitions, and reading, writing, and oral activities. BOLDPRINT can be used across the curriculum — in English, the Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Media Studies — to help develop independent, proficient, and confident readers, writers, and communicators. Written by experienced educators alongside experts from a wide range of fields and disciplines, BOLDPRINT books will encourage the most reluctant students to read on, ask questions, find out more, draw their own conclusions, and expand their horizons.
