B9 — An Integrated Instructional Arc for the K–6 Classroom
Room: TBD
Presenter: Gina Marion
To develop readers who are proficient, automatic, and strategic, instruction must be explicit, systematic, and multisensory. Grounded in the Active View of Reading, this session provides a blueprint for developing readers through a high-impact instructional arc. Participants will master a systematic progression that bridges Word Recognition (phonemic awareness and phonics) with Language Comprehension by utilizing multisensory tools and content-rich Read Alouds integrated with Science and Social Studies. By exploring "Read Together" transitions, educators will learn to align every instructional minute into a purposeful, strategic rhythm that ensures cumulative review and student mastery.
