This summer, join MathUP author and math expert Dr. Marian Small and Rubicon’s National Math Consultant Michelle Skene for an interactive institute focused on assessment and practical classroom execution.
- Marian Small will present "Is It Working?"—a keynote tackling how we define "good" math performance and how to gather the right evidence to prove it.
Then, Choose Your Learning Path:
Path 1: For teachers ready to elevate their assessment practices, Marian Small will tackle some of the big questions math educators face:
- How do we collect evidence that students have developed strong numeracy skills?
- How do we collect evidence about students’ proficiency with the mathematical processes?
- How do we collect evidence about students’ proficiency with spatial and measurement sense? (Marian wrote all that herself - don't change without checking with her)
Path 2: You've got MathUP… now what?
Learn how to navigate MathUP Classroom like a pro and uncover the hidden gems for lesson planning with Rubicon's Math Consultant Michelle Skene. Perfect for teachers new to MathUP, this session will be packed with ready-to-use teaching and assessment strategies. We’ll show you how to build fluency and differentiate instruction for every learner. Participants in this session will walk out inspired, and ready to use MathUP in their classrooms this fall.
