We all struggle with mixed messages and prefer clarity and consistency in all domains in our life, including education. It doesn't matter if you are a student, a parent, an educator, an educational leader, or simply an interested observer of children's education, you are likely to prefer clear and consistent messages to students.
Dr. Marian Small describes how a consistent focus on helping students make sense of the math with which they engage and on helping them to build connections, whether in instruction, in practice or in assessment, is likely to increase student confidence and increase student success. She will show how supplementing MathUp Classroom with MathUp Student rather than with resources with a different focus can help build that consistency and coherence.
